Western Cape

GIZ's Youth Development through Football project has been present in the Western Cape since 2008. Acknowledging the existence of quite a number of non-governmental organisations and institutions that were already active in the province, YDF decided to focus on networking to connect and strengthen non-governmental and community-based organisations here, and to facilitate their cooperation with the provincial government. YDF therefore established a Steering Committee that represents partners of the youth-development-through-football movement in the Western Cape, the Western Cape districts and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport. In future, YDF's ‘Toolkit' will be used to capacitate the participating organisations.
