"Strong Youth, Strong Africa”

The YDF World Cup Programme 2010 The 2010 FIFA World Cup™ is an event that presents a host of opportunities not only to South Africa but also to the whole continent. It presents a platform for the country to showcase to the world what it is capable of, and also let the potential that is within come to fruition so that the rest of the world sees Africa in a different light after the event. Possibly, not in our lifetime will this opportunity again present itself, and what must be realized is that the time is now and the moment must be seized. It is in this very same spirit that YDF perceives the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. Therefore, the World Cup is only but a catalyst that will be used to plant seeds of growth, development, and sustainability that will grow and flourish way beyond the World Cup.

It is in this light the YDF, in partnership with Sport and Recreation South Africa will embark on a 15 day tour to its partner countries, using the power of the ball and spreading the message of youth development through football. Partner NGO's in each country will have the opportunity to present a one-day programme that will showcase the unique approach of combining football and life-skills to a broad audience. The tour kicks-off with an opening ceremony in Kigali on 1 May 2010, and reaches its conclusion in Manica, Mozambique on the 15th May 2010.
