Green Goal! events to COP17

The Green Goal! Sport for Environmental Awareness events took place during COP17 in Durban, in order to bridge the gap  between the high-level conference and youth from disadvantaged communities.

In the 'youth discussion forum', young girls and boys had the opportunity to discuss their environment and actions to influence their living space.

Looking forward to preserve the environment - children came together in small groups to commit to specific actions they could take to safe the environment. The commitments were written on boards and set together to form a 'Tree of Commitments'.

The Youth Development through Football (YDF) project has developed a new manual on how to raise environmental awareness using football, and presented its ‘Manual for Environmental Awareness’ to the public during the conference on climate change (COP 17) in Durban.
